Forces only issue a Unique Reference Number, and only attend, where the alarm was fitted and is maintained by a certificated company. An uncertificated install gets you a siren and nothing else.
Police response needs a certificated installation. CCTV makes you a data controller, and we design for that.

Two things to understand before buying any system. Police response is not automatic: a force issues a Unique Reference Number, and attends, only where the alarm was installed and is maintained by a company certificated to the relevant standard — and a URN can be withdrawn after repeated false activations. And CCTV recording identifiable people makes you the data controller, with duties on signage, retention, subject access and overlook that we design around but cannot discharge for you. No system prevents crime: they deter, detect and record.
Only if the system was installed and is maintained by a certificated company and you hold a Unique Reference Number. An uncertificated installation gets you a siren and a phone call to yourself, whatever the advertising says.
Yes. Repeated false activations get a URN withdrawn, which is why maintenance and finding the actual cause of a false alarm matters more than most people assume.
You become the data controller when cameras record identifiable people, with duties on signage, retention and subject access, and ICO registration may apply. We design the system to make those manageable and tell you what they are — but they remain yours.
You should not, and it creates real problems. Cameras capturing neighbouring property or public space engage further obligations, and we will tell you when a position is going to cause trouble rather than just fitting it.
Whatever your risk and your insurer require. Fitting below a specified grade can give an insurer grounds to decline a claim, so we check the policy requirement before quoting.
No system can promise that. Alarms and cameras deter, detect and record, which materially helps — but anyone guaranteeing you will not be burgled is selling something other than security.
